for Itanium-Based Systems in 2001
Or-Yehuda,
Israel
(June 5, 2001) - Mutek Solutions, Ltd., the leading provider
of solutions that minimize downtime in business-critical applications,
today announced that its solutions will support Intel Ò
ItaniumÔ processor based platforms. Mutek's Black Box
Flight Recorder for Software technology provides a solution
for pinpointing the root cause of application failures by
finding out why problems occurred, so organizations can prevent
or rapidly fix them.
Mutek
has been working with Intel to optimize the performance of
its software on Intel 32-bit architectures such as the Intel
Pentium 4 Processors and on the Intel Itanium Architecture
for the Windows* and Linux* operating systems since Mutek
received funding from the Intel 64 Fund in
February 2001.
"Companies
need to minimize downtime, and the associated costs, of applications
and servers in business critical computing environments,"
said Yochi Slonim, President and CEO of Mutek Solutions. "We
have been working with Intel to optimize our solutions for
Itanium-based computing systems so organizations can prevent
or rapidly fix the root cause of problems. This not only minimizes
downtime, but ensures that particular problems do not happen
again."
"Today's
software solutions place new challenges and demands on the
server infrastructure, such as higher availability and reliability
as well as error recovery. Mutek's Black Box Flight Recorder
for Software running on Itanium based systems helps organizations
reduce application downtime by pinpointing the root cause
of problems, enabling organizations to rapidly fix or prevent
them," said Sharad Gandhi Director of e-Business Solutions
Marketing EMEA.
About Mutek's Black Box Flight Recorder for Software
Mutek's Black Box Flight Recorder for software operates like
a flight recorder for business critical applications on servers
and clients. With no modifications required to the applications
or the system, the Software Black Box Flight Recorder transparently
records the online operation of applications and delivers
alerts before failures occur. Application activity is recorded
at multiple levels, from the user's experience, through the
system level operations and down to the program's code lines
executed by the running process. In case of crashes or other
errors, the Black Box Software pinpoints the root cause of
the problem to dramatically reduce downtime.
